Help others learn to readIt's hard to imagine, but even in Southern Ohio, illiteracy still plagues many people's lives every day. Skills we take for granted such as reading the daily newspaper, or surfing the Internet are not possible for a number of adults in our area. You can help by donating your old computer system. Just drop it off at any Shawnee Computer location. It will be reconditioned, repaired if needed, and donated to the B.A.S.I.C.S. program, located on the Shawnee State University campus. Any computer that is a Pentium 200 or higher can be utilized, including any peripherals or accessories such as printers, monitors, mice, keyboards and speakers. If you don't have an entire system, drop off that old video card when you get your new GeForce and we'll make sure it is put to good use. Any units not able to be used by BASICS will be refurbished and placed into the hands of someone who is in need of a computer but cannot afford one, a church, charity, educational organization, or shelter. Phone ahead, or drop your unit off at any Shawnee Computer location near you. Please email us if you have any questions, and thank you for your kind-heartedness and generosity toward those less fortunate. Don't forget those old ink cartridges as well. The Children's Miracle Network will receive a cash donation for every empty cartridge you recycle through Shawnee Computer. Stop in for a postage-paid envelope.
